The Remember Me Tea Dance was an inter-generational participatory theatre experience staged in a site responsive context at South Street Arts Center, Reading in 2010. The Audience were invited to watch a Story Telling and Dance Theatre based performance created by a group of non professionals celebrating personal biography: memories, dreams and life experiences. Audience were invited to write down there own thoughts, share in conversation around the large cabaret style tables, learn a dance and eat tea and Cakes!
The response was overwhelmingly positive from both performers and audience alike. For a more vivid depiction of the experience check out this video…
I love this.
